The results of the Gujarat assembly elections are out. This time the Bharatiya Janata Party has created a new record. In Gujarat, which has 182 assembly seats, 156 BJP candidates won the elections. BJP’s Raghavjibhai Hansrajbhai Patel defeated AAP’s Prakash Dhirubhai Donga by 47,500 votes in Jamnagar Rural assembly seat in Jamnagar district. BJP candidate got 79,439 votes while AAP got 31,939 votes here. BSP remained third on this seat. Its candidate Kasam Nurmamad Khafi got 29,162 votes, which was 17.91 percent of the total votes. That is, Khafi was successful in saving his bail. The fourth-placed Congress candidate could not even save his deposit. Congress’s Jeevanbhai Ahir got only 18,737 votes, which was just 11.51 per cent of the total votes. Apart from Areeh, the deposits of two other candidates were also forfeited. 2,285 voters of Jamnagar Rural pressed the NOTA button.

He defeated BJP’s Raghavjibhai Hansrajbhai Patel by just 6,397 votes. A total of 25 candidates were in the fray here. Apart from these two, the deposits of the remaining 23 candidates were forfeited. Apart from 2017, Congress had won from here in 2012 as well. In 2007, the BJP candidate had won here, while in 2002, the Congress had captured the Jamnagar Rural seat.
